Director, Daya Lanka Strategic Solutions (PVT) Limited was formerly Consultant (Corporate Affairs) & Industrial Relations Manager in a leading international industry in Sri Lanka, International Media Officer to His Excellency the President at President’s Media Division, Founding Research Officer and Lecturer Department of Strategic Studies, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University(KDU), Visiting Fellow, Institute of Defence Studies and Analysis(IDSA), New Delhi, India, Senior Media Officer in the Directorate of Media Sri Lanka Army and Operational Headquarters Ministry of Defence, Staff Officer (Intelligence) to Operations Commander Colombo and an Infantry officer with more than 24 years of unblemished and exemplary active services in the Sri Lanka Army both in times of war and peace.

He has followed a number of academic and professional training courses on defence studies, Strategic studies, research and analysis, Peace and conflict resolution studies, international politics and international relations, media and mass communications, fire and safety, Use of high explosives in warfare, leadership, instructor and lecturer training programmes, Prevention of suicides and addictions, human resources management, military media management, war and conflict reporting, journalism etc. in many recognized universities and institutes in Sri Lanka and abroad.

Among accolades, he is a recipient of Desha Putra Medal (Son of the Country award) for his ‘battlefield injuries in the face of the enemy’ and Uttama Seva Padakkama (USP) for ‘valuable service and dedication to duty with outstanding ability, merit and possesses a flawless record of moral and military conduct”.
